ACS Formulation
Public Consultation:
Public consultations are a part of the strategy formulation process in which local opinion is sought regarding sustainable development issues at the district level. The recommendations herein will later feed into the main strategy document. These public consultations ensure the participation of stakeholders at the grassroots and contribute towards increased local involvement in the overall development process. The process of ACS public consultations was extensive and was taken to the 57 union councils of the District in which more than 2500 persons participated. In all, 60 meetings were held throughout the length and breadth of the District.
Two standard forms were used for the public consultations. The first form was used for collection of baseline data of the Union Council and second for listing of issues as identified for intervention. The process of consultations was brought together in a report at the end of the phase. This report described the issues identified in the consultations and assigned priorities to them in accordance with the frequency with which they were raised and prioritization in individual meetings.

Women's Consultations:
Women constitute nearly 50% of the total population of the District. To ensure maximum participation of all the society i.e. male and female, it was planned to consult women groups in the District in order to incorporate their views regarding issues in sustainable development in the conservation strategy for the District. For the said purpose, 15 separate meetings with women groups were arranged in the District, with the help of SRSC.
